| Issue 7 ½ | Spring/Summer 2011 Re-Release |
Dear Reader:We hope you had a wonderful summer and are looking forward to an exciting fall. In case you missed the in-depth Spring/Summer edition of the Philadelphia Social Innovations Journal (PSIJ) that was launched in June, we’re reissuing it, along with several new pieces: a book review on social media and how we consume information, a leadership column from Liz Dow, and a healthcare blog post from Bob Groves. Continuing our new focus on theme-based editions regarding pressing social issues, this issue features articles, editorials, columns and interviews on 3 special topics: Partnerships Toward Collective Social Impact, Community Impact Strategies, and Generational Leadership Targeting Social Entrepreneurs. We’d also like to invite you to celebrate our upcoming launch of the Healthcare edition of the PSIJ, which we will mark with a kick-off on September 26, 2011 at the Radisson/Warwick Hotel in Philadelphia from 4-7 pm. At this event, co-sponsored by and done in partnership with the , you’ll meet healthcare innovators, hear a keynote presentation by Dr. Terry Madonna, Director of the Center for Politics and Public Affairs at Franklin and Marshall College, and enjoy networking afterwards. We hope you plan to join us on the 26th; click here for more details. Finally, the PSIJ Special Edition Social Innovations Within Education is now available as a book and can be ordered online at . In addition, to continue the conversation about education, in mid-September PSIJ is launching multiple educational blogs written by content experts, providing a media alternative that is focused on education innovations and solutions. As always, you have an open invitation to join the PSIJ team! PSIJ’s growing readership and value to the region stem from the work of its volunteers, whose collective knowledge keeps our Journal innovative and whose outreach touches all of us.
